Detroit Food Toolkit

About this toolkit

The story of the good food movement in Detroit is just the most recent inspiration to come out of the city that put the world on wheels. It's grassroots in every sense, with hard-working people getting their hands dirty, working together and building the city they want to see from the ground up.

Our Mission

The Detroit Food Toolkit was born through a series of conversations with local leaders in urban agriculture, food businesses, and people who support food work. Thanks to support from the Erb Family Foundation and from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Detroit Food Policy Council created this website to bring together information about the food system for would-be growers, startup food businesses, and more. Here, we'll profile the organizations you need to know and highlight the services they offer. The blog will serve as a community bulletin board where people can post events and programs related to food. The Resources section includes links to useful publications and guides to help you find your way.

You cannot change any society until you take responsibility for it, unless you see yourself as belonging to it and responsible for changing it.
